Flying Baby

Super Basti Baby was an awesome trooper on our commute from Petaluma to Panama, via San Francisco and Houston.  I have to admit I was anxious and nervous and just plain petrified of how chaotic the trip could get, fortunately it was not so.  Just very tiring.

Basti smiled and smiled and smiled at everybody at the airport and on the plane.  So he got lots of smiles back from other passengers.  And after the first flight, passengers commented on what a good baby he is.  HE IS!  He also got people blowing kisses at him and one lady offered to take him with.  Thanks, but I'll keep him!

Pressure change during take-off and landing didn't seem to bother him at all.  Phew.  Although I tried to time nursing for just those moments, it was not really up to me.  Somehow he managed to get comfy enough to nap on my lap (on Toto) several times.

Ready for the first flight!  SFO-IAH

Lounging in IAH.

Smiling at boarding passengers to PTY.

Asleep PTY-IAH

Lounging in IAH.

Asleep 15 minutes before boarding IAH-SFO, darn.

Airplane floor sleeping, IAH-SFO.

The return leg was the most tiring though.  It was harder for Basti to get comfy enough to fall asleep.  And if he did, it didn't last long.  So unfortunately he was awake for most of the last flight...  which means he was very very tired and starting to complain more loudly.  So we tried to entertain him and walk him up and down the aisle.  He was so overtired that at some point he just zoned out and had a spaced out look on his face.  Poor baby.  And of course it took us about 45 minutes to get our bags.  Argh.  He passed out as soon as we got him in the carseat, so he slept all the way home from the airport.
